Historical context
Doña Ana County is located in the southern part of the New Mexico and is one of 33 counties in this state. It was created in 1852 and named for Doña Ana Robledo, who died there in 1680 while fleeing the Pueblo Revolt. In 1900, the county hosted an agriculturally based society with a population of 10,187. The market centers were Las Cruces, El Paso and Ciudad Juarez. Annual county fairs have been organized to educate constituents about Doña Ana County programs, initiatives, services and resources. The fairs have become a popular annual event. Edited based on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do%C3%B1a_Ana_County,_New_Mexico
