Dean Goddard was granted a license to broadcast with the call letters 5XD those call letters were later changed to KOB. KOB was the first radio station west of the Mississippi to air a play by play of a football game when the New Mexico Agriculture and Mechanical Arts football team played against Albuquerque Indian School. Dean Goddard was the play by play announcer. The station eventually became known as KRWG in to honor Ralph W. Goddard its founder.''
