Hadley, Hiram, 1833-1922
Historical context
Hiram Hadley, 1888-1894, was instrumental in founding Las Cruces College in 1888. When the New Mexico territorial legislature established the Agricultural College and Experiment Station in Las Cruces, in 1889, he was named president, and oversaw the opening of New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts. This house belonged to my father J.R. De Mier. He remodeled it and we lived there. I was married there Jan. 31, 1900. Colvin was born there Jan 5, 1901.
