Historical context
'The Engineers' Club was organized October 1, 1914. It was modeled after the old Engineers' Association which had its last meeting in May, 1908. The purposes of the club as stated in the constitution are: To create student interest in engineering matters and discuss engineering subjects, to make possible the securing of special speakers on engineering subjects, to arrange for possible inspection trips to points of interest, such as Elephant Butte Dam, etc., to strengthen the engineering spirit and bring about closer co-operation among engineering students.''
